Sri Mandadi Krishna Reddy was born in the year 1956 in Thimmajigudem, Nalgonda District, Andhra Pradesh. Sri Krishna Reddy's career has been an eventual one with ups and downs. His rise to the top has not been an easy one, it has come through some dauntless battles, he fought for Telangana against Nizam’s rule and rubbed shoulders with the likes of such titanic figures as Puchalapalli Sundaraiah, Ravi Narayana Reddy and so on. All of this and good plus sound education, studying until postgraduate level has helped Sri Krishna Reddy to develop a balanced personality and zeal to serve the society.

Sri Krishna Reddy was exceptionally gifted with good business instincts and honed himself into a man of substance, gifted with skills in every field, he straddled across. His foray into the field of business was exemplified by foray into the area of poultry farming and met with instant success in the same path crisscrossing the entire seashores of India. It was during this period that he gained an insight into the ways of consumer activity. That is, he found that the cost of product from the source of production to the consumer market rises from 10% to 80% at any level on any item. Further more, he realised that the ultimate beneficiary was the trader, with both the manufacturer and the consumer not gaining any benefit.

The said lesson inspired Sri Krishna Reddy to take all preventive steps to protect the rights of the consumers. He started off with a group of worthy citizens, all imbibed with a sense of mission to social service, founded a consumer organisation called “CONSUMER AWARENESS AND RESEARCH CENTRE, (CARC TRUST) and developed the same into the largest consumer association in South India. He visited every nook and corner of the state to bring about awareness in consumers about their rights, was on wheels for a wholesome 72 days on his Chaitanya Radham along with his dedicated band of 35 members and covered in all 614 mandals of A.P. In addition to this, he gave away his earnings to the consumer movement.

Sri Mandadi Krishna Reddy's story is not a story of a man who rose to the top with ease, it is a story of a remarkable man who fought for the oppressed and brought about a dose of knowledge in them about their rights. The major source of inspiration was Mother Theresa, he met her at 'Nirmala Hruday' in Kolkata and much inspired by the power of 'The Mumbai Grahak Panchayat', he formed the noted scheme of Apna Bazaars, two in each mandal of AP They were set up with the sole motive of making the product reach the consumers directly from the source of production, CARS TRUST. The same fetched the benefit of tax exemption under section 80-G which is termed as the first of its kind in the nation.

Is the Chairman, Confederation of Andhra Pradesh Consumer’s Organisation and Vice-Chairman of National Consumer Association. Due to his efforts, a sum of Rs 78 crores has been paid to the farmers of East Godavari Districts as compensations from seed traders. Maruthi Udyog Ltd., has paid RS 12 Crores as compensation amount to the concerned consumers. Is the Founder-President for Children’s Film Society of AP was instrumental in the hosting of International Children film festival in the city of Hyderabad. Also, as a founder-member of Twin Cities Film Club, E.C. member for South India film societies federation and as founder-secretary for AP state chapter and Vice-President of Hyderabad Film Club, he was associated with film society movement for more than two decades. Is the Founder-President of Ujwala, a movement which enriched the cultural world. The same conducted All India Drama competitions in Hyderabad thus setting the trend for the growth of culture awareness in the city.   Was the only invitee from AP for the 16th World Congress of Consumer International, held in Durban, South Africa from 13th to 17th November, 2000. He addressed the consumer activists of different countries. Visited, on invitation from TANA, USA, Canada, UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, China, Taiwan and many nations. Is a man of multi-faceted talents, consumer activist, writer, poet and actor. In his role of a philanthropist, he has been a source of strength to the people of twin cities cultural organisations. He has written 400 essays and short stories, is the Editor of Mana Patrika and consumer crusade. Also, he has provided help to aspiring writers in their works. Established Music, Art and Dance Schools for children, felicitated more than 1,000 artists and promoted Surabhi program in Delhi under Ujwala flag.

Sri Mandadi Krishna Reddy is married to Sujatha and is blessed with two children, son - Viplava Kiran and daughter - Santoshi Sruthi.
